As one of the main wine distributors, Globus Wine is represented in all significant Danish retail chains such as COOP, Dansk Supermarked, and SuperGros. Providing solutions for winemakers and importers, Globus Wine has a unique focus on sustainability and works towards making a minimal impact while supplying its customers with wine goods. It has, for example, cut emissions on transportation by bottling all wines on site in Denmark.

Globus Wine partnered up with SustainX to further accelerate its sustainability initiates. As a company with high sustainability ambitions, SustainX was hired to provide hard data for efficient decision-making  and increase internal motivation. Essentially, ensuring that Globus Wine successfully executes their sustainability strategy and raises the level of knowledge about sustainability within the company.

Key activities from the first year of the partnership.

Together with Globus Wine, we have implemented various sustainability activities. Here are some of the most important ones.

01.

Current State Analysis

We delivered an overview of Globus Wine’s direct and indirect emissions by making a CO2 Baseline establishing sustainable KPIs for the company. The analysis has set the foundation of all future work and tracks Globus Wine on three key parameters: People, Profit, and Planet. A Current State Analysis includes activities such as Maturity Matrix, PESTEL, ESG Positioning, and Materiality Assessment. Based on the results from the analysis, we began strengthening Globus Wine sustainability initiatives in order to support the company’s sustainability journey.

CO2eq Baseline

We established a CO2eq baseline to track the development of future emissions. SustainX and Globus Wine are gathering data for a Scope 1 and 2 inventory in accordance with the Green House Gas Protocol standard. By mapping out Globus Wine's Scope 1 and 2 emissions, it is now possible to track the effects of future sustainability initiatives. Once a complete overview is established, we can set reduction targets and implement initiatives to lower Globus Wine's greenhouse gas emissions.

Educational Training

Selected employees completed our sustainability education using Triggers, which ensured the same knowledge and understanding of why Globus Wine embarked on its sustainability journey. By raising sustainable awareness and building knowledge and a common understanding of sustainable development amongst employees, Globus Wine's sustainability strategy has been strengthened and employer engagement has been raised.

Ambassador Corps

We established an internal Ambassador Corps to maintain high motivation for the sustainability initiatives and secure a successful change process.
